Lodestone Stonechat Brut Rose MCC 2015
R1,134.00 per case of 6 bottles
Cultivar: Pinot Nior, Chardonnay
Appellation: Plettenberg Bay
Lodestone is a newly established wine and olive estate located in the Redford area of The Crags in the emerging Plettenberg Bay wine of origin region where Jon and Ingrid Tonkin have planted sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot noir and semillon together with a number of varieties of olives.
This is the initial release the first bubbly, a brut rosé, which is called Stonechat, named for the small bird which presides over the vineyards in which the grapes for the MCC are grown. It is showing real promise and excitement. The bubbly is kept on the lees for 12 months but will soon be extended to a further 12 months in order to ultimately to leave all the MCC’s on the lees for a minimum 24 months before release.
Tasting Notes: Salmon pink in color, this Pinot Noir/Chardonnay cuvee displays a crisp acidity with a strawberry pomegranate nose delivered on a cloud of bubbles.
